Mission
The mission of the Zimmer Children’s Museum is to promote values that help make a better society through interactive learning, creative self-expression and art experiences for children and families.

The Zimmer Children’s Museum, incorporating Jewish and community values and ethics, teaches all children and their families about big ideas and about making a difference in their homes and in the world. The Museum encourages community responsibility and cultural sensitivity by highlighting the ideals of respect for others, generosity of heart, helping those in need, accepting differences and celebrating uniqueness. Through its on-site activities and school-based youTHink program, the Museum reaches broad audiences and is a venue for visitors from varied backgrounds to discover shared ideals.

About the Museum
The exhibits, programs and special events of the Zimmer Children’s Museum challenge both children and adults about what it means to be part of a community and how we live in and share in a diverse world. Thematic art projects, theater games and music add dimension, vitality and fun to the visitor’s experience.

The museum provides quality education to individuals, camps and private and public school groups. With interactive exhibits, special programs and trained staff, the museum encourages intergenerational learning for children and families through creative expression and imaginative play.

Children 3 to 7 particularly respond to the "please touch" exhibits while pre-teens and teens participate in leadership training and community service opportunities. The Museum welcomes young adults and seniors as docents.

About youTHink
youTHink is the Zimmer’s innovative education outreach program, jointly developed with the Center for American Studies and Culture. youTHink uses the power of art to foster critical thinking, engage diverse learners, promote literacy, and serve as a tool for social change.

youTHink offers School Services which provide arts-based lessons in California’s public schools along with professional development opportunities for teachers; Youth Services which provide meaningful leadership and community involvement opportunities for students outside the classroom; and Community Partnerships that offer corporate training programs, bring exhibits of student social commentary art to businesses and the broader community, and provide other opportunities for collaboration and contribution. For examples of student art projects created through youTHink lessons, visit the youTHink Art Gallery at www.youthink.org.

youTHink Youth Services programs provide leadership, arts and community involvement opportunities for students outside the classroom. Targeting 6th – 12th grade students from throughout Los Angeles, these programs provide opportunities for interested students to get more involved with youTHink and to meet new people, have unique experiences and gain valuable skills. Please check out the Youth Services link on our website www.youthink.org to learn more about the programs we offer. We welcome you to observe or participate in one of our events, and meet our youth.
